MIM (Metal Injection Molding)

TMetal Injection Moulding (MIM), is a process for creating small precision metal components, and replaces the machining or stamping of metal packages. The manufacturing technique combines powder metallurgy and plastic injection moulding. Powdered metal is injected under pressure into a mold, which allows for unique and sophisticated shapes. These shapes are then subsequently cooked at high temperatures. This process enables high volume production parts for lower cost. It also allows for greater freedom in design.
