Plating
Plating is done by electrolytic or electroless methods using Au and Ni layers, on an automatic, semi-automatic or manual plating line, depending on the production site.
These layers, of micron size, are required at the various manufacturing stages of the packages. Some examples are:
- Nickel-plating of the ceramic components before their assembly
- Pre-treatment of the metallic components
- Gold plating of the glass to metal and ceramic packages at the final manufacturing stage.
Egide prides itself on its expertise in the plating process. Significant resources have been invested to guarantee a quality product. By integrating the plating process in the production line we can control the quality of the finished package. Egide does not outsource its plating as many of its competitors do.
